I don't know if it's fake news or not, Ukrainian ambassador show the last conversation of a Russian soldier and his mom, and it's heartbreaking, you'll never know when is the last time you'll be able to talk or even contact your love ones, in this Russian soldier case it's truly similar to us when we talks to our mom and it's truly horrifying, lastly I know there'll be much more heartbroken mothers, fatherless/ motherless child, widows and one who'll never see his mother again, I can't hope for anything better than peace to all the livings and the dead. This war was fucking horrible, don't get me wrong they all are, but this one just has an extra layer of depression added into it, maybe is from the poor quality in the videos and the always grey sky at Chechenya combat footage or the faces of the young unmotivated conscrips or even the many videos of the fate of Russians POW Who were later sold as snuff, shit, everything about this one war is just depressing
Not to mention that only a few years prior to this war, the Afghan war ended, and not only that but the whole country fell apart. Many Afghan vets probably also fought in Chechnya as well. Basically the whole 90s in Russia were devastating and, no wonder, why many young people turned to drugs and alcoholism. Also, Russian economy was basically shattered after the fall of the USSR. Oligarchs would grab everything for themselves, while the common people were left to struggle.
@@sasalazarevic1475 Actually, many chechens were afghan vets and yeah, the 90s was a pretty deppressing era in Russia, the economy was fucked up and the entered a war with a poor trained and equiped army full of 18 year old conscripts, truly dark times, I just hope that this shit doesnt happen again, i´m not even Russian or chechen but goddam it hurts my heart to know how much people had suffered in those times, imagine the parents of those boys living in misery and then recieving the news that their son ended up KIA or worse the ones who recieved the news and got a videotape with it, trully fucking depressing

also about grey sky - it's pretty much 24/7 here in Russia, anywhere, really. there's a song about gray sky from a group agatha christie, if you can't find it in english you can try searching агата кристи - серое небо
